Aims of the festival

To promote, celebrate and encourage good amateur theatre in the area
To assess productions at each society’s location through a travelling Assessors Panel
To mark productions using a scheme adapted from one originally used by the Guild of Drama Adjudicators (GODA)
To encourage members of dramatic and operatic societies, schools and youth groups to see each others’ productions
To socialise and celebrate at the season’s Awards Evening
